CONNECT WITH
THE JOY AND FUN
OF RAISING BILINGUAL KIDS

21 days of simple strategies to fuel your
family’s Spanish speaking

(without the nightmarish “ya no quiero hablar español” syndrome, exhausting overwhelm, or crippling self-doubt)

If you grew up speaking Spanish  ...

... have a partner whose first language was Spanish, or learned Spanish as an adult yourself, and you now want to pass on the language to your kids while also making sure they’re connected to Latinx culture, then you probably understand that raising bilingual kids doesn’t just happen automatically.

And you don’t need someone to convince you about the many benefits and advantages being bilingual will offer your kids.

After all, you probably already KNOW that being bilingual has a direct connection to academic and professional success.

You’ve probably also heard that being bilingual at an early age stimulates brain development and expands cognitive abilities.

And you can probably also confirm that being bilingual allows kids (and adults!) to communicate effectively with lots of different types of people.

HERE’S WHAT YOU MIGHT NOT KNOW

You may have started parenthood with the impression that raising bilingual kids would be fairly easy. The truth is that it takes effort! But the good news is that:

Having a plan will make your life easier. Considering your options & priorities is crucial when it comes to raising bilingual kids. Having a plan in place means you’ll no longer be tempted to doubt yourself or give up when it gets tricky. Instead, you’ll have a roadmap and strategies ready that will guide your bilingual parenting approach.

Helping your kids learn Spanish can (and should!) be fun. The best way to support your child’s language development is through play (not through drills, worksheets, or constant prodding).

Early childhood is the best time to learn. Your young child’s brain is easily able to soak up new information, so this is the ideal moment to make sure their Spanish is strong.

You are your child’s best teacher. Even if your Spanish isn’t perfect. The fact that you’re here reading this proves that you’re approaching bilingual parenting with intention and love. You CAN raise a bilingual child.

EVEN THOUGH THE REASONS TO RAISE BILINGUAL CHILDREN ARE CLEAR, THE PATH TO DOING SO IS ANYTHING BUT.

Perhaps you committed to raising your kids speaking Spanish. You did great for a while and felt amazing when your kid would ask for “agua” or say “Hola, abuelita.”

But even with the best intentions, most bilingual parents lose steam once their children make little English-speaking friends, start gaining more vocabulary in English, and ESPECIALLY once they start English-speaking preschool or Kindergarten.

But luckily, early childhood gives us a golden opportunity. Kids are still young and adaptable, and it’s the perfect moment to help them (and you) connect with the joy of Spanish.

It’s not too late! All you need is a plan and a little mindset shift.

THE 3 REASONS WHY MOST WOULD-BE BILINGUAL PARENTS FAIL

1.

“WE’LL JUST SPEAK SOME SPANISH AT HOME.”

This is great! …In theory. The reality is that being casual about speaking Spanish at home and hoping that kids will just pick up the language organically is usually not how it works.

But taking some time to figure out the right strategy for YOUR family (and revising your plan when you need to) sets you up for success down the line.

2.

“I KNOW I SHOULD TEACH MY KIDS SPANISH, BUT I’M OVERWHELMED.”

It’s not awesome to feel like you’re COMPLETELY responsible for teaching your kids an entire language, that they may not seem that interested in learning in the first place.

3.

“MY KIDS DON’T WANT TO SPEAK SPANISH AND I DON’T WANT TO FIGHT ABOUT IT.”

This is perhaps the biggest reason of all. But would they feel this way if Spanish was always tied to activities that were fun and moments that were joyful? What if they felt connected to the cultural practices and celebrations of Spanish-speaking countries or even their own familia?

As adults, we know that speaking Spanish is a gift. We just have to help our kids catch the vision.

INTRODUCING:

A program to help you connect with the JOY and FUN of raising bilingual kids through 21 days of simple strategies that fuel your family’s Spanish speaking.

I’ve taken everything I’ve learned from years ...
... of helping parents raise bilingual kids (as well as the strategies I’ve used with my own three Spanish-speaking hijas) and created a program that will give you the inspiration and guidance you need to bilinguify your family’s days. It’s the only program of its kind that:

-   Takes you from “struggling to make Spanish happen” to “I have a plan.”
-   Helps you find the support you need from your community.
-   Reboots your inspiration and creativity around making Spanish joyful for your family.

HERE’S WHAT YOU’RE GETTING WHEN YOU ENROLL TODAY:

BILINGUIFY!
$200 value

Three weeks filled with videos of strategies, prompts and challenges. You’ll receive video recorded lessons and assignments within each section of the program. It might be a brainstorming exercise, an invitation to try something new with your kids, or a challenge that will help bilinguify your life.

COMMUNITY
OF BILINGUAL PARENTS
$75 value

Access to a private online community where this program will be hosted. If you keep your mind and heart open, you’ll create long-lasting friendships and discover kindred spirits in this group!

3 COMMUNITY ZOOM CALLS
$100 value

We will all join together on a Zoom call once each week to connect, explore, and dig deeper into the themes and assignments. This will be an important part of building that bilingual parenting community you definitely need!

When you add it all up, that’s a total real-world value of $425.
But in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, if you enroll TODAY, you’ll pay just $97.

HERE’S HOW IT WORKS:

1.

First, we’ll build a foundation, a plan for you to get rid of overwhelm and for BOTH parents to help automize language learning at home (even if only one of you speaks Spanish).

2.

Then we’ll make sure your kids are getting enough exposure to español—no worksheets or flashcards. We’ll hook a pair of jumper cables to your intuition, creativity and connection to your kids.

3.

Finally, we’ll focus on helping your family feel connected to the broader cultural aspect of being bilingual and CELEBRATE esa herencia bella that your kids are lucky to claim.

ABOUT THE BILINGIUFY! FOUNDER

So who is this internet lady promising to make Spanish fun?

Hola!
I’m Vanessa Nielsen Molina,
your teacher.

I’m an entrepreneur, a writer, and mamá to three little bilingual Mexican-Ecuadorian-American girls.

I’ve been interested in how language impacts our identity for years (that was the focus of my M.A. in Communications!). I worked for several years in jobs at the intersection of migration and communication—as an interpreter and then running Hispanic marketing & PR campaigns—before launching my own business.

You see, by then I had a daughter. And I didn’t have much experience as a mom, but one thing I knew for sure was that I’d do everything in my power to raise her bilingually. Which, it turns out, requires some work and lots of resources. As a new mom, my desperate search for consistently amazing Spanish children’s books to read at home led nowhere. So I decided to fix that! I left corporate America to launch Sol Book Box, the Spanish children’s book subscription service.

I have loved sending phenomenal books in Spanish to hundreds of families all over the world. And I’ve also had many conversations with parents that WANT to raise bilingual kids, but have a hard time staying motivated. So it got me thinking: what are the key things that have helped my husband and me raise three kids who are not only bilingual, but really love Spanish? And could I share those strategies and tactics with other parents who are struggling to speak Spanish at home?

The answer was yes, and that’s how BILINGUIFY! was born!
